As this area falls under the Eco-Sensitive Zone of one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in India, the projects which are Environment-Friendly would ONLY be permitted by the Government Authorities.

Additionally, In keeping with the tradition of their ancestors, the family would ONLY encourage those projects which :

– Do not adversely affect the Health of the local people.

– Bring in much needed Employment to the local people.

Local Support

The family has a good reputation in the area and hence you will get the much needed local support in terms of Identifying the Land, Leasing / Purchasing the Land, NA (Non-Agriculture) Permission wherever required, Security, Experienced Manpower, Accommodation etc.

FOCUS SECTORS

Owing to the dry climate and black soil, the predominant crops include Cotton, Castor and Cumin. The other major crops cultivated here are Bajra, Wheat, Sesame, Groundnut etc.

Horticulture and Agro-Forestry are also good alternatives.

Animal husbandry, particularly dairy farm is the most suitable occupation. As dairy farm offers quick returns and near stable prices, banks may finance liberally ensuring tie-up arrangements with dairy societies.

Dairy farms of indigenous cattle breeds having good milking capacity, can be a very promising venture.

Due to high evaporation rate coupled with high salinity of sub-soil brine, the Jhinjhuvada Rann in the Little Rann of Kutch produces the best quality crystallized edible salt in India.
The salt is produced here with traditional methods since last several centuries.

The area is full of Prosopis juliflora (locally called as gaando baaval) which is a shrub or small tree and native to Mexico, South America and the Caribbean and brought here by Britishers as a part of afforestation.

Prosopis juliflora is an excellent source of Charcoal Production here.

Solar Power Plants

As the area falls on the Tropic of Cancer and with well over 300 Clear and Sunny days in a year, the Solar Power Generation is Maximum and hence Maximum Income. Solar Power Plants with a total capacity of over 100 MW are already operational in the area.

Wind Power Plants

The area provides optimum wind speed conditions because it is wide open with no obstructions nearby as it faces the wildlife sanctuary having a flat land measuring 4954 Sq Km. The Wind Power Plants with a total capacity of over 100 MW are already operational in the area.
